About Signature Tool Inc.
Founded in 1987 in Windsor, Ontario, Signature Tool Inc. started as a two-man operation with a clear goal: to build and repair indexable cutting tools for the region’s growing mold and automotive industries. What began in a small shop has since evolved into a full-service, precision tooling company serving manufacturers across North America and Europe.
The company’s roots trace back to co-founders Greg Soulliere and Frank Quint, who cut their teeth at former industry giant Valenite Modco before striking out on their own. Within just a year, they had acquired their first CNC machine—a bold move at the time that sparked steady growth, including expansion into multiple buildings and repair contracts with major OEMs.
Like many manufacturing businesses, Signature Tool weathered the boom-and-bust cycles of the 2000s, including a severe downturn during the Global Financial Crisis in 2008. But with grit, strategic reinvestment, and the leadership of the next generation, the company doubled down on innovation. Forward-thinking decisions, like acquiring advanced CNC machines and embracing new software technology, allowed Signature Tool to boost productivity, lower costs, and expand into new markets.
Today, Signature Tool is a go-to partner for both custom tool design and repair, supporting industries from automotive and aerospace to energy and infrastructure. The company is known not only for its technical expertise but also for its commitment to solving complex machining challenges with creativity, collaboration, and customer focus.
Through decades of change, one thing has remained constant: Signature Tool’s passion for craftsmanship and continuous improvement. “As we look to the future, our team is focused on growth, innovation, and delivering quality solutions that help our customers cut smarter, faster, and more efficiently”.
